Since its foundation in 1948, KARL SCHMIDT Spedition has developed into one of the leading service providers in bulk logistics throughout all of Europe.

At the CHEMPARK Dormagen SCHMIDT has built a silo department with 40 silos on an area of 3,900 m^² specifically to store the engineering polymers Novodur and Lustran (ABS) and is operating those since May 2005. The 40 silos have a capacity of 340 m^³ each. An experienced team of SCHMIDT employees ensures smooth operation.

At CHEMPARK Dormagen Kemira Germany GmbH, subsidiary of the Finnish chemicals company Kemira Oyj, produces aluminum based water chemicals used for waste water treatment and for drinking water applications. The product lines include both, acid salts like aluminum chloride (Kemira ACL) and polyaluminum chlorides (Kemira PAX) and also alkaline salts like sodium aluminate (Kemira SAX).

The site in Dormagen is actually the largest production facility of Kemira in the world. The close collaboration with Covestro, who delivers the needed hydrochloric acid by pipeline, ensures Kemira’s access to high quality raw materials and guarantees its supply reliability.
