Prerequisite for the simplified registration with Facebook Connect is of course a Facebook account. This requires the entry of e-mail address and password. With the link between the web service and Facebook, the web service receives certain data stored on Facebook. Which data that are, the user gets summarized in the authentication mentioned in the pop-up.

Find customers on Facebook
With the help of Facebook Custom Audience, we upload our own customer lists with data (e.g e-mail address or telephone number) from customers who are to be advertised later, as an identification tag on Facebook. The data is first hashed in the browser using the SHA256 method (Secure Hash Algorithm 256) and then transmitted encrypted to Facebook. Facebook compares the hash values of the customer list with the hash values of already existing own user data. Through the comparison, Facebook learns which of those affected is also a Facebook user. The matches are grouped into a Custom Audience on Facebook and saved in the advertiser's account as a "Custom Audience".
